Who is it for?

The Professional Accounting Technician apprenticeship provides an ideal progression route for those who have completed the level 3 Assistant Accountant apprenticeship. It builds on the knowledge, skills and behaviours developed through the level 3 programme and takes them to a more advanced level.

The apprenticeship provides an ideal training programme for anyone who has responsibility for creating and/or verifying financial information to ensure it is timely and accurate and is produced in a manner that meets ethical, professional and legal standards.

They may be doing so for their own organisation or others so they may be employed in an accounting practice, a professional services company, HMRC or the accounting department of an organisation.

The programme is highly flexible, allowing it to be adapted to a wide range of workplace environments and industry sectors.

As an advanced qualification the programme is suitable for existing employees seeking/requiring further Professional Development rather than a ‘new start’ trainee. In addition to the entry requirements outlined above, candidates must have at least some experience working in an accounting-related role.
